My father, Leslie Armar Brown, was the youngest child of George W Brown & his wife, Alice Brown (née Old), This page endeavors to trace his patrilinear line.

- who married ALICE JANE OLD (born in Glanvilles Wootton, Dorset, c. 1864; died in Dorchester, Dorset, 13th April 1922) at St Luke's Church, Uxbridge Road, London on 5th October 1886,

Leslie Armar (b. 6th June 1910; d. 21st Dec. 2001)

The 1901 census shows George and Alice living at 35 Gayford Rd, Hammersmith, London with their two sons George and Thomas; also in the same house were five lodgers: Jessie & Samuel Smith, Sarah & Albert Duckling (mother & son), and Samuel Rogers.
Alice's occupation and that of the three minors in the house (George Jnr., Thomas & Albert Duckling) is 'undefined'; George Snr. is a 'Carman'; Mrs Jessie Smith is shown as 'Ironer Wash' and Mrs Sarah Duckling as 'Laundress Wash'; Samuel Smith and Samuel Rogers were both Builders Labourers.
